What is your professional background?
I cut my teeth in the industry as a massage therapist. This helped to pay the way and provided a great opener for clients who would then want to improve other areas of their health. I worked as a massage therapist and naturopath in a number of clinics in Sydney before becoming increasingly involved in education and course design.
What is you greatest accomplishment?
Revolutionising the online delivery of natural health courses at a college. We transformed the learning experience for students, with a dramatic increase in student engagement, progression, and satisfaction.
What do you like most about training students?
I find it rewarding and humbling to be a part of someone’s self-development. I feel so proud of people when I see them overcome challenges and obstacles to achieve their goals. It is especially rewarding to help people towards their chosen career and a better life!
What are you passionate about outside of work?
Staying healthy. Movement is my medicine. This may come in the form of yoga, kung fu, tai chi, cycling, bush walking, or ten pin bowling.
What is your favourite book/movie?
Book – Ask and It Is Given, by Esther and Jerry Hicks. There is nothing that you cannot be, do, or have.
Movie – Amelie. I’m obviously a romantic deep down.
What is your idea of the perfect vacation?
The people are more important than the place. I love to holiday with close friends. Combine that with somewhere warm and sunny, with a good place to swim, contact with nature via some good walks, and plenty of great food.
