What is your professional background?
I have worked in the VET sector over the last 20 years and kept my industry currency up by volunteering with multiple different organisations within the community.
What is you greatest accomplishment?
Whilst I celebrate my employment and academic achievements, my four amazing and talented children would have to be my most proud achievement. They range in age from 9-16 and I enjoy spending quality time with them and treasure family time.
What do you like most about training students?
I feel enriched when students reach a greater understanding of the context, concepts and content relating to their particular study and reach their ‘aha’ moment. I believe students are empowered through education and fuels their passion for working in their chosen pathway within the community services sector. I enjoy assisting students to discover and fulfil their passion with the support, assistance and guidance from our training team in our organisation. I feel empowered when students share their passion and discover new learnings and develop skills that will be transferable to their roles in industry.
What are you passionate about outside of work?
I enjoy spending time with my family, socialising with friends, yoga and allowing my home to be a place for my children’s friends to gather and spend quality time together. I value education and feel a strong need for continual professional development. I enjoy spending time reading books, going to the movies, studying and supporting students with their calls over the weekend.
What is your favourite book/movie?
Life is Beautiful – Roberto Benigni
What is your idea of the perfect vacation?
I enjoy going on cruises as this is a family friendly vacation where we are able to spend time together and I can implement self-care and create a good work/life balance. I enjoy being able to detach from technology in order to solely focus on my family, my passion of reading and relaxation.
