Would you know what to do in an Emergency situation?

Having up to date First Aid qualifications is a must, and also a regulatory requirement for many workers.

This comprehensive program has been designed by Australian Industry experts to keep you up to date with the latest emergency response procedures and practices. Learn the skills and develop the confidence to tackle situations where your response could be the difference between life and death.

HLTAID003 Provide first aid suits those requiring formal certification for work or study, as well as those wanting to update their general first aid skills.

The course will provide knowledge and learning outcomes including:

  • Recognise, assess and respond to life-threatening emergencies
  • Accurately communicate incident details
  • Perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Techniques on adults and infants
  • DRSABCD Action Plan
  • Use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
  • Perform appropriate first aid procedures
  • Wound and bleeding management
  • Sprains and Strains
  • Burns
  • Fractures and dislocations
  • Head and facial injuries
  • Spinal injuries
  • Abdominal and chest injuries
  • Temperature-induced conditions
  • Manage medical conditions such as asthma, seizures, anaphylaxis and shock
  • Manage medical emergencies such as choking, bites, stings and poisons
  • Infection control
  • Exposure-response
  • How to manage casualty movement
  • Legal responsibilities

** Specific licensing/regulatory requirements relating to this competency, including requirements for refresher training should be obtained from the relevant national/state/territory Work Health and Safety Regulatory Authorities.

Delivery

Theory components are primarily delivered online via our e-learning platform and are suitable for anyone seeking to enhance their first aid skills.

If you also need the formal certification, or if you want practical experience, you will also need to attend a 6-hour classroom-based training session. Public classroom sessions are currently only conducted in Brisbane, but we can host corporate on-site training sessions anywhere in Australia.
